Volunteer teachers are needed in Chinese to assistant local teachers in class, as English is compulsory for most schools all over China. The age group for the kindergarten are 5 years old and below, and the age group for the primary school is from 6 to 12 years old, and 13 to 15 for the junior high schools and 16 to 18 years old for the senior high school students.

Volunteer will be mainly teaching the conversational English in class by choosing their own topics. They may paint the pictures and cartons, and play sport games, sing the English songs, and study the western culture and tradition and customs and discuss any simple topics on the English study. There will be one Chinese teacher sent to each class to help the volunteer teachers in teaching.

The average class size is about 50 students per class, while many schools have bigger classes with over 60 or even 70 students in each class. In addition to teaching English language, you may also choose to teach science, arts, sports, music in class or outdoors.

Chinese students are trained to be disciplined in the school, and they also show great respect to teachers. They are hard working day and night, and you will find piles of books standing up in every desk of the students in class, and they have very less time for any entertainment items and sports games.
